Grants for families and educators

We get by with a little help from our friends

SEED supports YOU!

“Thanks to SEED, I was able to attend two intensive training sessions through the Lindamood-Bell Center in San Luis Obispo. There I received direct instruction for four days delivered by none other than Phyllis Lindamood, the daughter of the program’s founder. Because of this training, I am able to use cutting edge research-based strategies to help my students with decoding, spelling, and reading comprehension. I can see it make an impact on my students every day and I remain deeply grateful to SEED for providing me with this opportunity.”

One of the main ways SEED supports our special education community is with funding for enrichment programs, workshops, activities, supplies, and more, both for our LAFSD educators and for Lafayette families.

Below you can learn a little bit more about each program, and link to an application.

  • Grants for Families

Is there a class on parenting special needs children, a great IEP advocacy workshop, or another program that would be helpful to your family, but it’s a bit beyond your budget? Let us help.

SEED has developed a scholarship fund to help families afford these opportunities. Grants are needs based and available to fund up to 50% of the total cost of your program, with a max of $500 per family.

In the spirit of our organization, grant funds are earmarked for Lafayette families with children who have diverse learning needs and disabilities.

Funds are limited, so do apply early using the form linked below. Due to our Board meeting schedule, it may take up to 6 weeks to process your application. Your patience is appreciated!

  • Grants for Educators

Are you a special education teacher or administrator in the Lafayette School District? SEED wants to support your continuing education efforts, special training, classroom projects, and student needs.

Projects we’ve funded in the past include:

    *Kimochis Social Emotional Learning program

*Bay Area Children’s Theater – Musical Theater Program

*Supplies for the Special Olympics team at Stanley

Please use the form linked below to tell us about what you have planned, and we will get in touch with you shortly.

NOTE: Apply early for time sensitive projects, as our board meets monthly to discuss grant applications.

Thank you for all you do, and for your interest in SEED!
