Recap! “Parenting ADHD”

We had a great turnout for Parenting ADHD! A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to our partners at Classroom Matters for a wonderfully informative presentation. Below is a followup note from Lisa & Tatiana and a recording of the presentation. You can find a link to their slide deck here.

Dear families,

Thank you for joining us for Parenting for ADHD! Lisa and I were so happy to share information and be in conversation with so many amazing and dedicated caregivers.

Below are links to tools and resources we use and/or recommend when parenting kiddos with learning differences. This is not an exhaustive list, and we welcome any suggestions you have for things we should add.

As we said in the presentation, this is meant to be a first step on the parenting journey. We recognize there is still much to be learned regarding ADHD, executive function challenges, and other learning differences, and how they show up in school, at home, and in the world. The path to success may be circuitous and your kiddo’s runway to launch may differ from their peers. That’s okay. Try to see it as an opportunity to learn from your child, try and fail, then try and fail again, discuss and evaluate in a non-judgmental/blaming way, and do it all on repeat.

And don’t forget the DO-OVER!
Feel free to contact us with your struggles and success stories.

We’d love to hear from you!

If you would like some extra support on this journey, please reach out to the front desk at CM to schedule some parent coaching – you’re not alone!

If you would like to be added to our newsletter and/or to the list for upcoming support groups for parents and students with ADHD, please email Tatiana.
